We think we’ve found the cause of the migraines.  We had a new gas fire installed Friday

Apparently they coat the insides of the fire with a light oil to protect them. This burns off during the first hours of use. It looks like this caused the migraines.

At least the timing matches – all to well.

Tomorrow I go for more tests on my heart to prove I’m fit for chemo and surgery there as well.  They say they are going to pump me full of radioactive stuff, so for the next 24 hours I’ve got to drink as much as possible to flush it all out (we’ll have radioactive wee and radioactive drains). I’m also supposed to keep away from people as I will be a health hazard.

For some reason I don’t find this reassuring, I can’t think why.

  1. That sounds really funny “Danger to pulic”

  2. Lovely seeing you again this evening. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

    All the best.

  3. Thoughts and best wishes for tomorrow, RadioActiveGreenWeeMan x

  4. Sounds like it could make part of a good plot for a who’s done it. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

  5. Yes! I had exactly the same experience. Bought a new cooker, 4 migraines in 7 days. Had to scrub away the oily residue and all was OK. Not sure if that’s an option with a fire? I googled it, apparently it’s a known reaction

Our thoughts and prayers are with you both for tomorrow. Xx

  6. He has to keep clear of me too or else I turn green. You wouldn’t lke me when i’m angry. The thought of green radioactive wee is too vivid to imagine. I’ve heard of pea green soup but this is ridiculous
