Soon we go to Christies for Malcolm’s 3rd infusion and hopefully the last 3 weeks of chemo. Many people have been asking me how i amcoping and want to hear my blog as well so I have summoned up energy from heat exhaustion and here goes. You asked for it.

I was not surprised when  Malcolm was diagnosed with the big C as my mother had had the same symptoms only worse 20 years ago.  She beat it. What was hard was keeping positive during the 6 weeks before treatment began. Test followed test with bleaker and bleaker news. It was hard for him to eat and even harder for me to judge how much to give him and when and what.  Most of the  time I failed miserably and it all ended in rows and tears. (Mostly my tears ). Meals were a nightmare. However as chemo started the improvement was amazing and within days he was eating more and more.  I felt better as a result.. Now he is back to normal but not gaining weight fast enough and so another bone of contention raises its head. The dreaded multi calorie drinks which he must take as a food supplement. He hates them (they are awful)  But now to mention them to him.

Great news he is going to have one toniight. A victory! More on my thoughts tomorrow

  1. Hello Beryl from France
I did ask myself who was preparing all the food…s and all, and having to try and find what to concoct for each meal for your hubby Malcolm, and that takes up a lot of time and of course if he is grumpy as well because it is difficult for him, was!!! it must take a lot of self control, not to slam the pot over his head….heee..;eeee!!!! or tell him to do it himself! yes.. I know !!!
Be careful though that he doesn’t take advantage of you with pity!
But really he must be very grateful to have a loving wife who takes care of him, and all his needs!
It sounds though that there is still time for enjoyment! So no more tears! enjoy yourselves!

  2. This is terrible. Not only am I got at by my wife, my work colleagues are on her side.

It’s enough to make a man hit the bottle. In this case I suppose it will have to be Nutricia Fortimel Jucy – Tropicalgeschmack / Aromr tropical / Tropisk smak. Contains 38 ingrediants, including such tasty nibbles as calcium D-pantothenite and sodium floride. It took great willpower, courage and personal integrity, which was of course easy for me, being such a fine example of macho manhood!

And I have put on 1.3 Kg – so there!

  3. Great to hear some good news, apart form the multi calorie drinks! 🙂
