The Christie rang back. By then the worst was over and I just felt miserable with a kicked in the stomach feeling.
They asked me to go to the MRI (Manchester Royal Infirmary) for a checkup as a priority patient.
I got there and discovered what that means. No waiting in Casualty, segregated from everyone else because I’m at risk of infection, and fasttracked through X-Ray etc.
The result is that I have had constipation for some time, and did not know it. The chemo made it much worse. Hence most symptoms.
What they had already done was to put me on some stuff called Moveitol, which resolves constipation (you really do not want to know the details). That started to clear today.
The result is that I will have to have two sachets of this for the next few days / weeks, morning and evening.
And the chemo restarts tomorrow.
And tonight I ate a whole battered fish!!!
(Actually that was slightly too much – and I suffered for it. But who cares!)

They must be use to it, and ignore those moments, that show NOT the heart and soul of your real person!

You’re as tough as they come and far too great a loss to the world to even contemplate. Be strong and fight hard. I know you’ll do it. This blog is a wonderful thing for those of us far away. It is good to keep up with events and to try and understand what each day is bringing you, good and bad.
