Because I don’t know.  I’m getting worried I’ll run out of stuff to write here.

Still we’ve taken some decisions.

We are getting a new gas fire in the front room (it’s currently open hearth). The idea is that when I’m laid low with the chemo I can flake out on the couch. I will not however, unlike at least one wife I could name, spend hours watching quiz shows and dreadful B movies on the Syfy channel.

I keep hearing of people reading this blog. They even say they are enjoying it. I must get cancer more often.

It’s a nice compliment though, thanks and I’m glad you feel you get something from it.

My reason for starting this blog was that it was something I wished I could have done 40 years ago when I had my accident. Mind you it would have been a bit tricky, what with me being unconcious and web pages not having been invented.

But afterwards I found I wished I’d kept a record. It was a dreadful experience, but one which formed a large part of who I am. I want to keep a record of this as well, and this time I can.

Looking back I think there were other reasons as well for starting a blog.

I didn’t know if I would live or die, well I still don’t, but the odds are much better. If I died, then I wanted a record for my family, something for them to keep.

I was inspired as well by the book my physio wrote. He has had cancer far worse than mine, and his courage is something I truly admire. He documented it all. I think he was right.

And if my blog helps other people as well, then that’s a bonus.

  1. Keep your chin up thru these dull days Malcolm!

  2. Personal comment: I have met up with Bryan Denson, with whom I played cowboys and indians at Alma Park Primary School many years ago (not last week). He wishes to be remembered to you Malc.
