Chemo Infusion again. second of three.  Last time I was shattered and very tired after 13 hours.  This time took 10.5 hours and left me slightly headachy and just plain tired.  I think I can live with that, and always remember you are allowed to be grumpy and bad-tempered.

We got in at 9:00 and I got my blood tested. Then we went to sit in the conservatory, which is a beautiful quiet area in the garden.  Much better, and they will call you on your mobile when it is time.

So while we waited we went to check out the wig place. Apparently the expert on men’s wigs is in Friday and Monday, so we’ll go back, probably tomorrow. My wife (SheWhoMustBeObeyed) is threatening a very cute shoulder-length number in blonde.

We got called on time (instead of 2 hours late) and they did the infusions somewhat quicker, so we got out just after 7 pm.   I then spent the next couple of hours going to the toilet to get rid of all the liquid they have pumped into me.  And of course it is now a pretty pinky-red colour.

And since I now know that the stuff they have been pumping into me is mostly constipative, with more or less the same binding qualities as Plaster of Paris or cement,  I’ve started on the Movicol as a sort of pre-emptive strike.  So hopefully the reaction this time will be less, we’ll see on that.

Only one thing went wrong, we found out the hard way that I cannot eat white bread yet.  20 minutes of agony, until it cleared.

Family and friends either dropped round or called, what a nice lot they are.  Now I can barely keep my eyes open to finish this blog.  So good night, God bless you all.

  1. God Bless you

  2. Have not looked at your blog for two weeks as we have been on holiday in Corfu and only got back at 2am this morning. We are still praying for you each day. I don’t know if you are interested but my wee is a cross between pale yellow and white.

  3. Just to let you know we’re thinking of you Malcolm – sorry you’re having to go through all this but your
sense of humour must help you and the family! We’re looking forward to seeing your blonde wig,
but actually we would prefer a redhead.
